Top fashion companies The RAMP/CROSSINGS Dept Store and MICO were recognized with a 20-year milestone at Shangri La Plaza. The partnership with these retailers has been long established since the beginning of the mall. A ceremony was held during the Retailer’s ball, EDSA Shangri-La Hotel Ballroom last December 12, 2013.

Last November 23, both THE RAMP and MICO were also part of the Fashion Rhapsody 2013: The Shang Holiday Fashion Show, which was held at the mall’s Grand Atrium.

With runway-ready ensembles put together by renowned stylist Luis Espiritu, Shang presented holiday must-haves for style-setters featuring key pieces from the mall’s top brands—from glam casuals for Christmas parties during the day, to dressier options for holiday dinners and reunions. Set against a backdrop of heavenly voices by The Nightingales and live accompaniment by Klassika, Shang’s holiday fashion show was truly a rhapsody to remember.

Parading their key looks for the season were popular and well-known local and international fashion authorities , including Arrow, A/X, Bauhaus, Bebe, Ben Sherman, Celine, Crossings Department Store, Daniel Hechter, Debenhams, Escada/Escada Sport, Gant, Gap, K&Co, Mango, Marks & Spencer, Massimo Dutti, Mico Boutique, Nautica, Onitsuka Tiger, Rustan’s Department Store, The Original Penguin, Topshop and Warehouse.

Featuring day-to-night dressing for every holiday occasion, the show began with casual, laid-back looks that were later on transformed into dressier outfits for more formal, evening events.

Comfort was key for the men’s collection, as basic tees and piqué shirts were made cozy and preppy with lightweight knits and pullovers layered over, and paired with khaki and cargo shorts and dark-colored trousers to complete each look. Also featured were men’s button downs in classic checks and plaids, suit jackets in basic gray hues, and cozy outerwear in army green and navy blue, adding smarter and more tailored ensembles to the repertoire.

Capping off the night’s celebration of glamorous fashion and music are opulent evening dresses in elegant cuts and silhouettes, and chic frocks and shift dresses in modern prints and designs. Outerwear like trench coats and accessories such as scarves fit for the cooler weather also made appropriate holiday style statements.

Indeed, with a vibrant line-up of style essentials guaranteed to make standout holiday dressing as effortless as can be, the Shang has once again undeniably proven that it is indeed every urbanite’s fashion haven and every trendsetter’s style destination.
