Most people know him as award winning director Auraeus Solito, but he prefers to be addressed as Kanakan Balintagos which, is his tribal name. It means ‘Seeker of Truth’ in the Palawanon dialect. Last night he hosted a get together of cast mates and friends in their home in Sampaloc, Manila to celebrate his birthday. Assunta and Alessandra De Rossi (BUSONG & BAYBAYIN), twins Nathan and Gammy Lopez (ANG PAGDADALAGA NI MAXIMO OLIVEROS), Sue Prado (BUSONG), Chanel Latorre, (BUSONG) Mon Confiado and (BUSONG) Don Gordon Bell were among those who attended.

80’s music was mixed in with 70’s swing. That was when Kanakan grabbed Alex to dance. Not to be out done Assunta also danced with him. Kanakan got carried away as he dipped Assunta which resulted in her crashing to the coffee table beside them.

Chanel Latorre rubs Brandon’s tummy…
Everyone was amazed with Kanakan’s collection of rare fresh water fishes. His trophy room of international and local awards also had walls plastered with posters of his theater days. But it was Brandon, his 5-year-old Golden retriever who stole guests’ hearts.
