Rindido at MMFF 2010

(NOTE by Jude Bautista: Congratulations to my good friend and film maker Noriel Jarito. His film “Rindido” will be part of the Metro Maila Film festival’s indie section from December 16-22, 2010. The reason I personally am so impressed with Noriel is his ability to take everyday subjects and weave a compelling story out of them. He’s very efficient, able to create drama and tension using very real visuals instead of dialogue. I can’t wait to see it especially with him as an actor. Noriel has also taken the lead by organizing his own SAMAR film festival. Synopsis:

Mag-uumpisa ang kwento mula sa airport sa araw ng pagdating ni Efren, isang OFW sa Saudi at biglaang uuwi dahil natanggal s’ya sa trabaho. Lalabas s’ya sa gilid ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport para sumakay ng bus, bitbit ang maliit na kahon at isang back pack. Bakas sa itsura n’ya ang depresyon, kulang sa pera at walang gaanong naiuwing mga bagahe. Sa Maynila s’ya tumutuloy sa bahay ng kabit n’ya. Nasa probinsya ang kanyang tunay na asawa at anak.

Puro alipusta ang dadatnan n’ya sa kanilang compound. Bubungad s’ya sa kanilang apartment na may kaakap na lalaki ang kanyang kabit na si Lani. Hahabulin n’ya ang lalaking si Carlos pero sa kasamaang palad ay s’ya pa ang pagtutulungang bugbugin ng mga kainuman nito.
