In the 1920s, simple star-shaped lanterns made from bamboo sticks and colored paper lit up the way for midnight mass goers. From these beginnings, the parol has become an enduring symbol of the Filipino Christmas.

An award winning parol maker from Pampanga created the masterpiece. The giant lantern is made of fiberglass measuring 18 feet in diameter with over 200 bulbs electronically synchronized to music.
