This is for Rocky Collado of Bloomfields, who is celebrating his Birthday May 30, 2012. I just photographed their gig last night in probably one of the biggest parties of the year: Sun Life Rocks! The most successful insurance company has formally taken the number one spot in the country.

To celebrate the achievement they put up (in my mind) a dream band list: The Bloomfields, The Dawn, Juan Miguel Salvador, Arnel Pineda, Itchyworms and Parokya Ni Edgar. Piolo Pascual and Ogie Alcasid drove the female Sun Lifers insane. I was fearful I was going to get crushed as thousands pushed against the stage trying to touch Piolo’s hand.

The bigwigs of Sun Life came in dressed in their favorite rock / pop icons: Sun Life Pres. and CEO Rizza Mantaring was “Like A Virgin” era Madonna, Sun Life Chief Mktg. Officer Mylene Lopa as Roxette’s Marie Fredriksson. There are quite a lot more I haven’t identified which exec was in which costume such as a complete KISS band and even legendary guitarist Slash.

The Bloomfields represented the golden age of rock and roll and got the crowd shaking to the twist, La Bamba, Johnny Be Good, Good Golly Miss Molly, Beatles hits: I saw Her Standing There and hard Day’s Night. I will be posting more pics and articles on that memorable night. Happy Birthday again Rocky!
