Heavenly bodies went down the ramp in a sizzling beach scene paving the way for GRAND FIESTA in Resort’s World Manila. The GRAND FIESTA is a six-week Christmas celebration featuring huge sales and countless events like: Von Trapp Family Concert (December 5), Christmas with Chris Botti (December 6), Pinoy Ultimate Jeepney (December 10 to 31) – Artists from all over the country pay tribute to the King of Philippine roads, Loyal RW Members with points can get to watch The Hobbit absolutely FREE (December 13), Grand Fashion Show Manila (December 13).Log on to the official Resort’s World Manila site for a complete calendar of events.

The Miss Resort’s World Pageant had one of the hottest swimsuit competitions. The biggest LCD screen in Southeast Asia, had the perfect background of a white sand beach and a lone palm tree with powder blue skies.

All candidates had swimsuit worthy figures, to say the least. #8 Jade Dy however, was able to use her ramp modeling experience to the hilt. At age 18 (she’s now 22) she was already modeling for the Fashion Watch Quartet at Makati Shang Rila Hotel. It’s the series where the best designers of the country show their collections from Lulu Tan Gan, Alex Bitong, James Reyes, Rhett Eala, , Patrice Diaz, Gian Romano , Cary Santiago, OJ Hofer, Avel Bacudio, Jojie Lloren , Rajo Laurel , Dennis Lustico, Ito Curata and Hindy Weber Tantoco.

Partnering with Miss Resorts World 2012, the Fashion Council of Cebu designed both the swimwear and evening gowns of the candidates. They are: Hajji Godinez, Anthony Romoff, Vania Romoff, Arci Gayatin, OJ Hofer, Yvonne Quisumbing, Philip Tampus, Albert Arriba, Jun Escario, Cary Santiago and their Pesident Philip Y. Rodriguez. For the swimsuit competition there were 5 designers also from this group: Yvonne Quisumbing, Hajji Godinez for SALMALTO, Philip Tampus, Vania Romoff and OJ Hofer. PRIMO sang Cant Take My Eyes during swimwear segment.

For the swimsuit competition it was # 12 Zahara Soriano who won the special award BEST in Swimwear. Other special award winners include–Best in Talent: #15 Jo Anne Dagohoy, Ms. Photogenic: #1 Karen Gallman, Darling of the Press: #5 Julian Flores, Social Media Fan Favorite: # 16 Ferina de Paz and Amazing Race Winner: # 7 Michelle Gavagan. No, Michelle Gavagan did not join the actual Amazing Race Phil currently on TV5. There is a special Amazing Race challenge where candidates had to go through the Marriot Hotel, The Remington, Genting Club completing various tasks with the fastest time. Michelle Gavagan who became 1^st Runner Up over all won the Amazing Race challenge. Ferina de Paz earned the most votes from Miss Resort’s World Manila facebook fan page as Social Media fan favorite.

Alexandra Salmeron was crowned Miss Resort’s World 2012, needless to say she also looked great in a swimsuit. Followed by 1^st Runner Up Michelle Gavagan (Amazing Race Winner), 2^nd Runner Up Karen Gallman (Ms. Photogenic), 3^rd Runner Up Jillean Orbina, 4^th Runner Up Angeli Gomez.

Practically all candidates got surprise bonus prizes: Top 5 will be getting an additional all expense paid trip to Resorts World Sentosa. Top 12 will get an all expense paid trip to Resorts World Genting. All candidates received a Resorts World Manila entertainment card with P 10,000 load. All contestants went to Hong Kong for Star Cruise shoot and got to see Hong Kong Disneyland.
