James Bond: Hmm, never seen you after hours, Moneypenny… lovely.

Miss Moneypenny: Thank you, James.

James Bond: Out on some kind of fashion assignment, dressing to kill?

Miss Moneypenny: I know you’ll find this crushing, 007, but I don’t sit at home every night praying for some international incident so I can run down here all dressed up to impress James Bond. I was on a date, if you must know, with a gentleman. We went to the theater together.

James Bond: Moneypenny, I’m devastated.

The quote above is from The 1995 James Bond Film Golden Eye with Pierce Brosnan as our favorite spy and Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny. To those who can remember Samantha Bond is younger and prettier Miss Moneypenny compared to the Judi Dench Version from CASINO ROYALE. That’s why Bond flirting with her makes sense.

While there has always been an emphasis on tuxedoes and flashy clothes on the 007 franchise, Brosnan was always known to be more fashion conscious than the other Bonds. The role of Remington Steele in the 1980s, which made him famous, was known for being stylish. This carried on in 2 successful Bond films.

While shooting the Fashion Rhapsody 2013: The Shang Holiday Fashion Show, I could easily visualize Brosnan wearing several brands. Daniel Hechter, Ben Sherman, Arrow, Marks & Spencer all have that Bond-like suave for men’s wear. Even if you may not necessarily be an international spy you can feel like one in these clothes.

The Shang Holiday fashion Show is annual fashion event held at the Grand Atrium of the Shangri La Plaza. Other brands that participated include: Arrow, A/X, Bauhaus, Bebe, Ben Sherman, Celine, Crossings Department Store, Daniel Hechter, Debenhams, Escada/Escada Sport, Gant, Gap, K&Co, Mango, Marks & Spencer, Massimo Dutti, Mico Boutique, Nautica, Onitsuka Tiger, Rustan’s Department Store, The Original Penguin, Topshop and Warehouse. Renowned Stylist Luis Espiritu put together the many accessories and clothes together for the show.
