Daniel As The Best Bond
This is subjective of course. There isn’t really an objective, definitive, competition as to who was the best to portray James Bond. Since it is Craig’s last movie, though now we can compare their bodies of work alongside iconic actors like Sean Connery and Roger Moore.
Those two along with Daniel Craig are the top vote getters in a number of online polls as the favorite Bond to ever play the role.

What distinguishes Craig from Connery and Moore is the context of when he had success with the franchise. Especially when he was able to revive 007 as a hit when the series seems archaic and irrelevant. Sadly, it is an end of an era with Craig, who is a man’s man in a world where gender has become a bad word. Masculinity, male superiority as a concept has become less and less of an ideal.

Believable Physicality
Take for an example a spectacular motorcycle chase scene with another British brand TRIUMPH Scrambler 1200 XC. Bond comes flying 12 feet in the air, ramping off a very steep incline and lands perfectly. Craig’s muscular build and toughness make it seem more believable he could pull it off. In reality the move was pulled off by Enduro Champion Paul ‘Fast Eddy’ Edmondson.

007’s Blockbuster Franchise
EON, as producers, were conscious of the changing gender politics making the film more politically correct; giving the role of M to Judi Dench etc. Even assigning an uber sexy Lashana Lynch as the 007 replacement for this edition (Bond was officially retired).

BUT it was still more of Craig’s grittiness, raw physicality that he brought to the role more than any previous Bond. He was more fighter than gentleman with the likes of Moore, Pierce Brosnan or Timothy Dalton. Still, Craig was able to successfully walk that tight rope between killer and suave man about town.

And it worked, CASINO ROYALE (2006) was the highest grossing film of that year– $606,099,584 worldwide. The highest grossing installment of the Bond series up to that point. (From: CASINO ROYALE wikiwand). It started him on a roll leading to QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008), SKYFALL (2012), SPECTRE (2015) and NO TIME TO DIE (2021). Each film after CASINO ROYALE exceeded box office take of the 2006 hit. Making 007 a legitimate modern blockbuster franchise.

Craig has recently wrapped up KNIVES OUT 2 (in post-production, set to be released by 2022) where he played Detective Benoit Blanc also in the first installment. This is a more cerebral role, where he had to develop a convincing Southern accent. Craig’s is the only recurring role, the new cast include stars: Dave Bautista, Ed Norton, Janelle Monae and Ethan Hawke.

Craig had Spanish hottie Ana de Armas as castmate in the original KNIVES OUT. Armas joins him here in NO TIME TO DIE as Latina agent Paloma. I just wish she had more screen time as she more than held her own in brutal action sequences.

Seydoux is known for her environmental advocacy. At the previous Oscars she wore a 100% sustainable Louis Vuitton gown. It was designed by Nicolas Ghesquière who worked with the Red Carpet Green Dress initiative.
